About the event

The goal of the Michigan Hunter Education is to train safe, knowledgeable, and responsible hunters.
We recognize that hunting and much of the culture that surrounds it has been unwelcoming for many people. We want to change that.
Widely recognized across state boundaries, the Michigan Hunter Education certification is the state-mandated training for obtaining a hunting license. The goal is to train safe, knowledgeable, and responsible hunters.
As wildlife biologists and ecologists, our approach to teaching the standardized Hunter Education curriculum emphasizes sustainable harvest based on sound ecological principles, and welcomes folks of all ages who may feel out-of-place or alienated by traditional hunting culture. You don't need to have grown up around hunting, shooting, or the outdoors to feel safe and supported in our community.
